RULES OF THE PROJECT "Stop Climate Change – Together Europe Achieves More”
The project is being implemented in Szkoła Podstawowa nr 12 im. gen. Mariusza Zaruskiego in Gdynia
Duration of the project: 1st September 2018 – 31st August 2020
The project is implemented within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + programme, Key Action 229 School exchange partnerships
The purpose of the project is to improve students' skills in the field of foreign languages, ICT, improve their team-work skills, creativity and critical thinking. Pupils will become aware of climate changes and they will try to find ways to mitigate them . Within the project there are various activities planned, for instance taking part in project logo design competition, creating a presentation about the school, students and the country, posters on the partner countries, measuring the weather regularly, attending climate based lessons in English, taking part in international environmental days, studying climate changes, ways of reducing carbon footprint, ways of protecting endangered animals and plants. Pupils will act in 6 environmental plays in English, prepare opening ceremony and Erasmus Days. They will make Powerpoint presentations, short videos and upload them to school website, eTwinning portal and common project website.
Within the project there are 6 short-term exchanges of groups of pupils and their teachers to partner schools planned:
- Osnovna škola Bartola Kašića, Vinkovci, Croatia - 1st Gymnasium of Cholargos, Athens, Greece - Szkola Podstawowa Nr12, Gdynia, Poland - Alytaus r. Simno gimnazija, Simnas, Lithuania - Instituto Comprensivo Sant’Elia a Pianisi, Sant’Elia a Pianisi, Italy - BC Broekhin Roermond, Roermond, the Netherlands and hosting the students of foreign partners in Poland.
English is the language of communication between project partners.
The project is aimed at all students of Szkoła Podstawowa nr 12 im. gen. Mariusza Zaruskiego in Gdynia
All students and teachers will be involved to participate in the project.
Students can participate in any number of activities implemented in the project. 10. Each student of the school can volunteer to participate in the project. The number of students participating in the project depends on: the specifics of the activities undertaken and the students’ competencies necessary to perform tasks.
11. The participation of students in the project is voluntary. 13. A Student joining the project should provide the coordinator their parental permission to participate in the design and process of their personal data. 14. Students perform their duties mostly in their free time from school. Some tasks can be performed in the classroom. In this case, all the students participating in activities are involved in the project activities. 15. Students perform their tasks associated with the project either under the supervision of a teacher or on their own.
TRIPS ABROAD GENERAL INFORMATION
1. There are visits to each partner school within the framework of the project‘Stop Climate Change – Together Europe Achieves More” 2. Due to a small number of students who can participate in trips, they are treated as an expression of appreciation for students' outstanding commitment to the project. Students the most engaged in the project activities are selected first. 3. Costs of mobilities are paid for by a grant received by the school from the European Union (purchase of airline tickets, insurance, participation in thematic workshops), students are accommodated in families of students of the partner school, which provide food, accommodation, etc. The student is obliged, however, to have pocket money for small expenses not covered by the grant. 4. The head of the mobility is the project coordinator, the teacher involved in the project takes care of the participants.
SELECTING STUDENTS FOR MOBILITIES 1. To select students for mobilities the following criteria are taken into account : a. the number and quality of performed tasks during the project, b. attendance at the project activities, c. timely delivery of project tasks, d. the declaration of hosting a foreign student at home. 2. In case of difficulties with selecting participants for mobilities on the basis of the above criteria, the following rules may also be taken into account: f. the degree of English proficiency g. irreproachable behavior 3. Before each mobility, the project team of teachers selects participants of the short-term exchanges of group of students. The team consists of 5 persons: a coordinator and teachers participating in the project activities. 4. If the number of applicants exceeds then, there will be a reserve list of students. 5. In case of cancellation of the student qualified to take part in the mobility, a student from the reserve list will be invited. 6. If a student qualified for a trip to the partner school gives up this trip, parent/legal guardian, the student undertakes to bear the costs arising from the resignation (change the name on the ticket, a reference book, buy a new insurance, etc.). 7. Hosting a student from the partner school does not mean qualifying for mobilities, though it is taken into account during recruitment.
RULES FOR STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN MOBILITIES 1. A student may take part in the MOBILITY only with the written permission of the parents / legal guardians. 2. A student, within the period specified in each case by the coordinator, is obliged to provide a set of documents (parental consent, consent to medical assistance, information card, etc.) and written confirmation of familiarizing the rules of departure. 3. A student and his parents are required to attend information meetings related to the mobilities. 4. Each participant of the mobility must be prepared for it (appropriate clothing, footwear, documents, etc.). 5. Each participant of the mobility is obliged to strictly respect the orders of the head of the group and other accompanying persons. 6. Each participant of the mobility must not: a. leave their group without the permission of the coordinator, b. bathe and use swimming equipment without the permission, c. drink alcohol and take psychoactive substances in any form, d. smoke cigarettes. 7. All participants must follow the established program and time schedule of the day. 8. All participants must follow safety regulations. 9. Each participant of the mobility is obliged to behave in an appropriate way, take care of the good name of the school and the country and not to violate the dignity of partners representing a different culture, religion or belief. 10. If a student breaks the rules above, they will excluded from further participation in the project and will meet punishment according to the Statute of the School. 11. In the case of any destruction by the student, their parents take financial responsibility for it. 12. The regulations mentioned above are valid from the beginning to the ending of the trip mobility. 15. Student’s parents ensure the safety of the student on the way between home and the place of beginning and end of a trip.
HOSTING STUDENTS FROM PARTNER SCHOOLS 1. During the project there will be sic mobilities, during which students can host foreign partners in their own home. 2. The host family provides a guest with care and the necessary conditions of stay, including: a. transport b. accommodation, in particular independent place to sleep, c. food, except for the situations in which the student will stay under the supervision of their teachers,. 3. Parents of the student confirm readiness to accept guest from the partner school in a statement. 4. A student and their parents are required to attend information meetings before receiving guests from partner schools. 5. Students receiving visitors participate in most of project activities taking place during the meeting. 6. Hosting the student from the partner school does not mean selecting him for mobility, however, it greatly increases the possibility.
FINAL REGULATIONS 1. The coordinator reserves the right to change these regulations in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond his control. 2. In cases of dispute, the committee composed of a head teacher of the school, coordinator and teachers included in the project team decide. 3.
